I have spoken so many times about the value of my online PLN that I'm sure many of you are sick of hearing me ramble on and on about how much I love Twitter. What I forget to talk about on here sometimes is the value of my "real world" PLN - as in, I actually have met these people in real life. As in, I could reach out and touch them (although I'm sure that would creep most of them out).
Today's Fresh Look Fridays website comes from one of those face-to-face moments. Recently, I had the pleasure of working with some teachers in Edmonton, who in turn shared some of the interactive websites that they had stumbled upon. Thanks to Christa Farmer for sharing a smartboard site that had links to numerous other sites, which in turn linked to ANOTHER site...which is the topic of today's Fresh Look Friday.
The Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is a cute little site devoted to surveying different art activities over varying historical eras. I like this website for a number of reasons, including the fact that it focuses on an often-neglected element of history and gets kids interested in history at a younger age.
One of my personal favourites? The ability to make your own greek pot -- ties nicely in to the Grade 8 curriculum in Alberta.
Thanks again Christa for the round-about recommendation!
Happy Friday, everyone and Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians :)
